Barça Set to Play First Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday
The club confirmed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition over two years since relocating for construction to commence.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside as per the current authorization. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted an open training session inside the stadium in early November. Officials stated approval is being pursued from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
